Had to put my truck in for alarm system repair today. Opening the door locks via the key fob does not always disarm the alarm - alarm goes off sometimes when I open the driver's door.

Any one else had this problem?

Mine has done that 4 times since I have owned it
About 8 times in a year - 3 times in the last week!
Can't tolerate it any more.

I will be intrested to see what the dealer says, doubt if it is just a srt thing
Probably not. I hate these intermittent electical problems - hard to find. If it is in more than today, I'm going to ask for a loaner - anything with SRT in the name will be fine :D :D :D But not holding my breath...

My passenger side lock sometimes sticks in the "up" position. Then I must unlock and lock it again (sometimes more than once) to get the little post to finally drop.

That's the only locking problem I've had...... Been that way quite awhile.

Yes, has happened more than once. Anyone having problems unlocking passenger doors? Sometimes I need to hit unlock 3-4 times for passenger doors to open.

update

I had an appointment for 7 am today - dropped the beast off at 7am sharp. had t ocall t oget and update - "Been real busy today" he says. As of 2pm "the assigned mechanic has not gotten to it yet - had other stuff ahead of you".

What good is an appointmnent? My Five Star Dealer - Dallas Dodge - is showing his true colors again.

Trying to be patient ...

Happens to me every so often. Not often enough to take it in though. Hope they find a fix for it, so you can tell us what it is!

I will whenever I get it back. I guess I'll have to drive over there to find out what's going on - service guy not answering his phone. What does it take to be a "5 star dealer" - the cost of a sign?

OK - picked up the beast - Dodge could not duplicate the alarm going off, checked modules and connections - no codes - found nothing wrong. So they did not fix the problem. Service guy said "the mechanic gets paid nothing if he fixes nothing, so he really tried to find something." Or perhaps he invested 5 minutes and gave up - I don't know. Service guy was not too happy when I told him I'll keep bringing it back evey time it happens, but he agreed it needs to be fixed - they just don't know what to do.

to be continued ...

Thats dealerships for you, i had to take my vette back three times for them to finally repair my oil sending unit.

I have not had that problem that your post is about, i have had the problem where you hit the open button twice real fast and the passenger locks still stays locked. Could be bad battery to havent changed them in my keypad.

I allso have the problem where if you leave your truck closed for about 10 min it will lock automaticaly, i did that a few weeks ago when the truck was running, thank goodness i had the window down some. Now i make sure the keys are with me whenever i leave the truck.

I'm a dealer! It's true if we can't duplicate the concern, it's very difficult to repair it. We just can't through parts at it. Vehicles aren't an exact science. Be patient and let the problem manifest. Techs always want to find the problem, because they don't get paid (and neither the dealer) unless a repair is done.

I'm not very familiar with the electrical system on our truck but i dont expect the module to that controls the locking and and unlocking to have the diagnostic capability to determine some of the malfunctions we have. This is a common promblem with all types of cars and trucks. I feel very confident to tell you guys that you have a bad door lock actuator. This is what it always is on the bmw's i work on...If only domestic dealers would be willing to take an educated guess.

i have to agree with you. 9/10 times thats the problem. We have had a batch or 2 bad actuators, but typically when they fail, they seize.

Thanks for the input, guys. I'll be patient - not my best attribute though. :p
