Almost bought a Challenger tonite...

Well.. I went and looked at and test drove a new 08 Challenger tonight.

I liked the car, but it just did not perform like I expected it to....

The interior is great, and engine compartment was clean, had really nice lines.. but that damn auto stick tranny they put in them really takes that 6.1 litre Hemi and removes the performance from it...

I have to say.. that compared to the Jeep SRT8, the Jeep outperformed it...

I think I may wait for the 09s with the new engine and 6 speed to come out... that is just my 02 cents worth...

I am not saying that I dont think are great cars... just they did not perform up the hype that I was expecting from it....

I was offered a good price however... little under 41k for it, loaded with NAV, MyGig, Sirius, Kicker System, Sun Roof, etc...

The company I work is going through a merger (or more like we are being aquired), but there are 3 spots that are currently open:

Network Admin Level 2
Web Developer Level 2
Database Analyst Level 1

Well Scott, your $0.02 and my $0.02 may not amount to much on the matter. People are going to still be googly about the Challenger simply bevause they're new.

I also experessed my opinion about waiting for the 09 6spd. to come out. The 08 model, as I figured, would be nothing more than a huge hype. I already knew it wouldn't perform as it looks. I still say the 300SRT would outperform it. But the looks; however, is really nice. Unfortunately looks aren't everything..:dontknow:
 
The Challengers are nice, I'm actually thinking of maybe even trading the truck straight up for when the V6 base models come out.
 
wow, $41K! guess they can't demand the $50-75k premiums any more since it hasn't lived up to anybody's expectations.

Yea that is just crazy, I bought an SRT-8 but did not trade the truck in. They are not on the same performance level.
 
Im sorry I think I misunderestood. Did he really say that he was gonna trade his 10 in for a base model V6?? Isn't that gonna be like going from a real vehicle to a micro machine?? At least get the V8.:hmmmm2: :damnmate:

Grade 38 is the paygrade. I would have to look up at see what that equates to, but I would have to guess in the range of $60-65k... they are non-profit so the pay is slightly lower than market rates, but the benefits are great...

I pay like $45/mo for insurance, and get $3k year in college paid for, free use of fitness center, etc...

Yes I do that also.. my full time gig is a information security professional, part time I do professional fireworks displays....

That fire mashall bill thing was great... =)
