Alternator Disassembly

Well I give up, taking to work tomorrow, maybe my dad knows a trick.

tried youtube????

I've always stripped out the screws on alts in an attempt to disassemble. The metal is really soft.

Are you planning on painting the casing? There are leads from the winding on one side that have to be snipped and resoldered. If you are not familiar I would take it to a battery/starter/alternator shop and have them disassemble it and reassemble/test it.

Wow that looks awesome.

I defiantly want to do that to mine one day.
