Relates to Stinker's oil lines: for the adapter fittings and hose fittings -- what torque should the fittings and hose ends be torqued to? Also, is there a socket or technique that can be used to torque down the adapter fittings without damaging or scratching the finish? For the hose end fittings, I talked with my local spedd shop and they suggest hand tightening (how tight is tight?) and using a -10 AN wrench tighten the hose ends another 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Or should I just throw out all the analysis, tighten 'em up 'till their snug and then check for leaks and retighten as required?

If your anal about it, buy wrenches designed for an fitting w/ finishes, usually painted aluminum wrenches. Or you could just make sure you have a good fit with a standard wrench, but it may leave a small mark (most don't care / cant tell).

I never overtightened AN fitting, just snug them up (more then hand tight though) IMO

i bought a set of AN wrenches from Summitt racing, even has a adjustable wrench with it, they are anodized, you may can try harbor freight

This is why I keep them in stock when I can like Patrick says rule of thum snug hand tight then quarter. Turn if folks would do that on the ps lines I wouldn't have to keep sending out fittings

I have a -10 AN wrench, no problem there. I'll try the hand tight plus 1/4 turn wrench method. Another shop I frequent advised the AN wrench I have is AL with relief cuts, e.g. I have the Summit -10 wrench. The folks at the shop suggested to me to tighten the fittings until resistance is felt in the wrench and with the fitting -- sort of "snugging it up".

If you are really anal you can put a piece of blue paper tape around it to protect from wrench marks. The blue is the thin stuff with light adhesive.

Use electrical tape, it makes a nice barrier to protect the anadozing.

Thats what I ended up doing. :hmmmm:
