Spoke with Dave at Evans and he ran me through the drill. you drop current coolant and refill with clean water. To make sure you get it all, you need to remove the engine plugs each time, clear the heater core and the overflow. Heat up motor then drop it again. Then refill with clean water and Prestone flush mix, heat to operating temp and drop again. Finally refill with water, heat up motor and drop last flush. Now add NPG+ (about 6 gallons) and you're set. Oh, as it runs through the heat cycles it will darken till its oil color, this is normal.
I'm changing all hoses (hard radiator and silicone heater), new 170 thermostat and new cap.

did ya find a very low or no pressure raditor cap to go with the Evans????
what gets darker????
enforcer17 said:I asked the same and he said theirs is a prep in case you can't get the engine plug out to remove the water, you need the prestone to get rid of the contaminants.
He told me that I can use stock, will check before I put it in.
The Evans coolant will get darker.
enforcer17 said:Thanks for the update, yours is the situation (fresh block). Wonder if that accounts for no color change? Dave said that they can tolerate up to 5% of water in the coolant, in your case there was definitely none.
Yellow venom said:The lines are stainless steel lines tha same as the oil cooler lines, they are not covers if thats what you are asking, and the other lines are like VIPR PWR said are to the heat exchanger, and for coolant I put in 5 gal with the complete system/block being bone dry.
