Just to put it into perspective..............the ENTIRE population of the earth could stand within the city limits of Jacksonville, FL, with room to spare, according to my calculations.

There are 6.72 Billion people on the earth.
Allowing them three square feet to stand in that would be 20,160,000,000 square feet.
The city limits of Jacksonville include 874.3 square miles or 24,374,095,120 square feet.

OK, now try to fit all of the coal-fired power plants, fossil fuel-burning vehicles, and let's throw in all of the cows (why the f not, it's my post) in Jacksonville. That might be a bit more impressive, and to the point of the thread.

Never mind that you and I agree on global warming.

all these numbers my math sux is the calculation 2012? the problem as far as I can see is we dont know when any huge, gigantic, catacalismic event is going to occur:hence no time to prepare,research data compiled on earths shift in weather, global events, volcanic,platetectonics,astronomical events,etc,etc, may help with predicting said forecasts, but at are age gents I think we will be long gone. ...........hopefully! the caldera at yellowstone national park is likely way more omnious, on a lighter note if the poles were too shift would it take thousands of years? and if this was a hyper event I think I need a boat, I can hit the sand with a rock from my house.........who knows:dontknow:

This is one of the most interesting reads I've seen on this forum....

I'm not saying that the data and postulates of these Russkies is dead on accurate... Nor am I dismissing it in any way. I just have a tough time with scientists whose egos allow them to make specific time and place assumptions relative to individual occurances which took place over tens of thousands of years. (in the future) Particularly astrophysical phenomena.

OK, maybe asteroids and shit....

Yet, it did hold my attention... particularly the theory that global warming has more to do with some decrease in the speed of the Earth's rotation rather than blaming mankind and its industrious nature.

LA will be where Frisco is in about 10 million years ( won't fall into the ocean)
Plate Tectonics ( Continental Drift ) will let it drift north.
San Diego area just might though there are huge under sea caverns that extend a couple of miles under the area( big enough to hide submarines)

Many places there require drilling before building to see if the parcel is over the caverns, also it is why the Navy gave the Air Station to the county as it sits on top of one of the largest caverns and could colapse into the sea.

Not strange,it is the works of man. Of course they pick and choose as most want thier way and not the Father's way. that is why there are 10 million different doctrines, when in the beginning there was but one.
