Hello, I am just introducing myself. My name is Russell and I just bought my 2004 Ram SRT 10 a few weeks ago and love it. I just recently found this website and have enjoyed reading and learning about these trucks. I look forward to getting to know all of you and learning more about these trucks. I believe I already have something in common with alot of you as I can smell my clutch burning from time to time, and have read that this seems to be a common problem.

Welcome dude............nice pics!! Looks like the rear was dropped but the front is stock? Did you do any of the mods or did you buy it that way?

Lots to learn here............many of us have spent way too much money and cant stop!!! LOL

Clutch upgrade is a must on the RC's............Get the entire kit via Justin JMB, Boomer.

Welcome to the asylum.....

The clutch problem stems from the known FACT that the clutch hydraulic system does not build sufficient line pressure....

This causes clutches to burn up quickly in some of the trucks....

The cure for this problem is to install the upgraded clutch hydraulics from the Viper GTS Coupe... It costs about 450-500 bucks plus installation....

The kit includes a new slave cyclinder, master cylinder and hydraulic throw out bearing.....

I've had mine for 10,000 miles with a stock clutch and flywheel...zero problems.... Previously, I had burned up 4 clutches, 2 trannys and 2 flywheels...

Good as gold now....

I bought the truck the way it is, the rear is lowered, however I do not know if the front is. The truck sits level when it is on a flat surface. Are the beds on stock SRT's higher then the front end, like they are on most trucks?

Thanks for the advice on the clutch, I will have to replace the existing system asap. I was considering just replacing the original clutch with a Centerforce Clutch and not replacing slave cyclinder, master cylinder and hydraulic throw out bearing. Has anyone done this and still had problems with it burning?

The sure way is to do the Centerforce Clutch, Fidanza Flywheel and the Viper Slave and Master Cyl. While you are at it Get the Gen IV Shifter from Boomer (www.x-metal.com). Then you are set to start the performance modifications!

Welcome Russell. Ask your questions, learn and pass on the knowledge. Your truck is pretty unique, it has some appearance mods that are different from the traditional...how does your sound system do for you? Mine is stock and not worth much, if you like yours let us know the components...
 
WElcome, you will find that the trucks are great and the people are better here. Very nice looking truck, and I wouldnt worry about the clutch to much, just plan on replacing it. Thats what I am doing! But for sure, I really like the stripes.... Just tell "Cardude" that you liek vinyl better than paint! HAHA J/K You will see his red truck with white stripes.
 
Thanks for all of the compliments, the stripes were painted on and then clearcoated over. If you were to touch the edge of the stripe you could not feel the edge of it, as it is smooth with the original paint. I was told by the dealer I bought it from that the emblems are one of a kind and a local St. Louis shop, Westport Customs, had them made. They appear to be stainless steel. The sound system is nice it has two 10" Polk Audio subs, and two Polk audio amps, one for each speaker, and a Pioneer head unit, it is a very nice set up.

When I bought the truck it had 1400 miles on it, and came with $12,000+ in reciepts that the original owner had done custom work. There are no performance modifications to the truck however, all of the work that was done was to the exterior body, sound system ect.
