One if our members is stranded on the highway on 288 near Almeda and 610.
His oil filter ruptured so he needs a couple gallons of 10/40 Mobil and a 090 or Viper filter. I've called the locals but no oft answered yet.
Thanks for your help

Hope it works out. Never seen that happen before. Hell mine leaked but damn!

I have seen the oil blow between seal because the person didnt make sure the old oil filter seal wasnt stuck to the plate still. It'll leak quick quick in that case tho.

That's quite possible as well, but dig up threads on blown/ruptured filters. Happens too often. Believe he's using an 090 Mopar filter which I've used for years although the Viper filter is the recommended filter. ;)

What is different about the Viper filter than the 090. I have only used the 090 on my 10 and dakotas since I have had em. Ram never gets of 75-80 psi. Dakota runs up to 90 occasionally.

Honestly don't remember off top of my head but I want to say amount or size of holes and internal bypass size ?

When I bought my truck it had an aftermarket filter on it, it was blown up like a balloon and about to burst. I only run the white viper filter now. Did we get this guy off the side of the road yet?

I have a bunch of filters at my house in the Woodlands if you need one. shoot me a pm.. at work but can leave if need be.

Ha..Houston....

Justin, you're a top notch car bro! Thanks for taking your time to help a fellow member out at his time of need! That's what I love a out most of the members here.
Glad you got to meet Shorty, he's great people as well. He's had his share of bad luck lately so hopefully he's getting better luck here on out.
