Anyone else into Slant Sixxer's???

wow cool:rock: I though I was the only wierd one that was into these old lil mopars. I was really captivated by how wide short the truck is over all and the step side is just a plus! I'm reading over on the slant six forum and some of the guys have some cool stuff..Like 4bls and nos running like 12's:rock:

also read up on some crude homemade turbos that bring these things alive:rock:

Between this and my monte carlo I hope to get this thing in fully driveble shape, spray it in my backyard and turn it for a quick buck to pay for some brakes on the srt, and bunch of stuff like a cage and other safety items for monte..

I anxious to drive this thing though:D

Never owned a d pickup with a slant, but I did have a 70 short and wide with a 413 transplant, and a 67 Longbed with a mild 318. Kinda miss the 67 with the dash shifter, kinda fun to shift manually lol.

I had a 68 Dodge van with a slant six, centered inside the van, inside a removable compartment. Any work that needed to be done, at least, you were out of the weather. Bullet proof engine.

Was introduced to a gentleman at Imm Reg Raceway, that owned the worlds fastest /6 !! In a Rail Dragster Chassis he ran 10.36's !!Decided to put the engine in a Plymouth Arrow body, and ran consistant 10.63's !!I do believe that he has participated in the /6 racing series too !!Damn, this is making me want to go play again !!

My first truck was a 1968 Fargo with a slant 6/3 on the tree. I paid $100 back in 1980 for it. We tried killing that truck in high school and just couldn't. I kept that truck for ten years, then sold it for $750. Lots of adventures in the old rig. I ran into a buddy after 20 years and all we could talk about was that old truck. It made a mopar nut out of me, for sure.:) :) :)

My first car was a 69 dart with a 225 slant 6 and i drove the thing into the dirt. 225k miles and was still running when she got traded in. I wish i still had it. ooooh the possibilities with that old thing. 426 hemi...318...383 and so on....

Dude,I wish I had pics of my '69 Dart to share with you !!! 225 cu.in,bored
.060 over,9/1 pistons,528/276 cam, head shaved .090 to give about a 10.5 / 1 CR,1.70/1.44 valves,MP Electronic Ign,Polished Offy Valve cover,Polished Offy 4bl Intake w/390 carb,Hooker 6 into 2 headers with dual flowmasters,Reverse manual shift 904 w/727 internals,TCI stall converter,3.90 LSD 8.75 !!!Mannnnnn I kick myself for selling it before I moved over here !!!! Best time in the 1/8 was a 9.89 !!People couldn't understand why I would waste my money on a /6 !!! When they had to ask if it was a 340 or 440 when I backed into car shows,I had my answer !!!I'm ready to do another one, just need to find the right toy to do it with !!! The wife wants a '67-'69 'Cuda !!:dontknow:

When I did all this work,I first drove the car around 'til I zeroed out the odometer so it went along with the new driveline !!After pulling the motor apart and sending the crank off to be reground,I got a call from my machinist that all he did was polish it !!The sucker was STILL within factory specs !!!
