Anyone Have A Guardian Generator?

I just installed a Guardian home generator 16000kw anyone have one? Living in FL and being through the last 4 years of shit with Hurricanes, I had to go ther, but now waiting for a storm Anyone have one of these?? This one is LPG!

Actually it's because my governor used to be that asshole Gray Davis, who ran this fkn state into such a ravaged condition that we were in danger of having no electricity..... quite often, in fact, we had none....

The system has an automatic transfer switch and it runs off natural gas.... It powers (pretty much) the entire house....

I have the 17000 watt gas powered Guardian which pretty much runs my entire house. I just shut down the main power breaker coming into the house and wire it into the main panel through a 60 amp breaker. It works great but it goes through 25 gals of gas a day. Expensive but definitely beats going without air.

If 17KW don't run your house............................ get a smaller house LOL 17Kw will run all the ac's the refers, tvs, adult toys.................everything

Well I have some experiance in this stuff, living in hawaii we also have power outages, and when I got my new house I convinced my wife that we should get a standby gen set.
I would not recomend getting a propane set up unless you have accsess to natrual gas and plan on running your unit on that as propane will not last as long and is more difficult to store, also during a natrual disaster propane will be the #1 or 2 fuel in demand for cooking and heating. I would recomend a diesel gen set, that is what I have, diesel is far eaiser to store and has a longer run time, it also has the advantage of running at only 1800 rpm verses gas and propane that needs to run at 3600 rpm to maintain 60 hertz output.
diesel is also quieter for this reason.
the only draw back is cost.. for a comparable sized unit a diesel will cost 25-50% more.. but will last longer than a gas or propane unit.

What's causing those failures? Our problems stem from lacking or poor maintenance practices or el' cheapo engines, those that are off shore mass produced. They give me plenty of headaches.

LOAD THAT BAD BOY UP!

Start it once a month and Transfer to emergency power and run that pig to 80% of its capacity for an hour! Keep up on your spark plug and make sure spiders don't build nest's in your regulator, they love natural gas

Ok I have a propane set up, I bought it from a Home Depot delivery driver that was loosing his home, I paid $2k for the whole set up, I really like the Deisel one you have though I have a 300 gallon propane tank in the back yard that handles my pool and cooking set up. The gen set will only run 1 of my ac units but the way its wired I get to choose which one:rock:

Iam a bit bummed now bout the propane though

Does the transfer switch work reliably?

Yes the Automatic Transfer switch is the way to go. It senses when utility drops and automatically kicks in the emerg circuit. Then stays on until you get a predetermined time that utility is on...............

Also has a test button that will allow you to test the gear, and load the genny...........

they cost alot more then a manual switch.

It has never failed or given me any hiccups in 7 years....

The system exorcizes itself for 20mins every Friday at noon....
