I disagree with Tony. Just seems to me if you are working with something that requires close tolerances, a piece should be from a quality manufacturer. Our experience says that Hennessey is not quality by any stretch of the the imagination. I also think that items that need reliable tolerances should not be chromed. The process is inexact and any type of coating will have more external variations than uncoated...I also think that the more polishing that takes place, allownaces need to be made in the upfront engineering.
I have confidence in Gary and Sean...I have none in John...never met John...never talked to him...don't want to. I would take Sean or Gary into my house as a relative, would not shake the hand of John due to his reputation and my relationship with Walt and Paul.
Sorry for the rant...I so seldom disagree with Tony that this was kind of fun!
the problem with you hypothesis is with the jh tb only the exterior was chromed, not the vital interior parts.
I have confidence in Gary and Sean also, I sincerely think JH is a turd myself, but that is not in question here, what the question was is if you set 3 or 4 of the major tb's together, none with any markings, then you most likely couldnt tell the difference.
For instance jsut take the throttle blades from all four lay them atop one another.....................................
Granted Garys blade is the best of all of them, and he includes the bearings.
but the orginal intention of this thread was he was getting a bundle of equipment, and in that case I would say keep the tb he is getting, not get rid of it for $3 and spend $400 on a new one, that would most definitly not make common sense.
So Prof your rants need to stay focused on lil school girls with tight lil ass's in skirts with no panties on and bulging breast commin from one too many buttons undone, and pony tails

now let go of your dinger
