Noticed mine started to stick a little in the throttle bore off idle only when engine id hot AND running. It doesnt happen when engine is off. Its not really
a BIG problem, it's just that it didn't do it with the old TB.

This weekend had truck in for service and Chuck Tator looked at it and conferred with Sean Roe . SR basically said it isn't a clearance issue but rather a vacuum related issue due to the fact that this TB by virtue of its design is experiencing more of a negative pressure. What's wierd about this theory is that it only happens when it's reached OT which would clearly indicate an expansion issue. He mentioned something about the engine producing more vacuum at it's OT. Is it possible that once this engine is warmed and all the
internal components are at their design clearances' so much more vacuum is developed so as to cause the TB to hang up?

Comments?

Mine was sticking because of slight binding of the butterfly against the throat walls near the pivot point. Everytime I smoothed the binding point, the binding would shift to another location. Finally I got tired of fiddling with it and put the stock TB back on.

Since the performance increase was not significant enough to be noticeable, I decided to sell the ROE TB instead of looking into it further.

Mike, did you do anything with the idle screw?

Have you spoke to Roe about it?...I have found Roe's customer service to be one of the best...
No, I asked the Dealer to speak to him since he talks to him 3 times a day anyway. And that was the answer he "supposedly" got. I will talk to him directly though.

You can just send him an email...he is prompt in replying...you may need to sand the blade or the throat a little.

Who installed it you or the dealer?

Yes, that did not help.
However tinygiants bought the unit from me and seems happy...
Yes, i have mikes TB. I have not had any issues with it.
Only thing I did when I got it was clean it up and polish it.

Then if it works on one and not the other its probably a torqueing issue which is causing some binding?Or temp issue? onn enginr running hotter than the the previous?

All I did was use paper slips to get it centered when I installed the blade.
Then I had no binding.

Thanks.Thats prolly what it is!
I placed the slips under the corners (think 1:30; 4:30; 7:30; 10:30 on the face of a clock). That position gave me both vertical and side to side clearance.

Heres the fix if anyone has this problem:

The blade is not square in the bore.

Loosen the four screws that hold the blade (just about ½ turn), loosen the 7/16â€￾ jam nut for the set screw and back the set screw out to allow the blade to close all the way until the linkage stops. That will put the blade more square in the bore. Tighten the four screws that hold the blade. Turn the blade adjustment screw back in until it’s flush with the surface of the jam nut, then back out ½ to ¾ turn.

That’s it J

Regards,

Sean
