I am wanting to hunt Cape Buffalo in Africa and would like any information that you could give me.I have a few things in mind, but someone with actual experience could be a great help.
I am thinking of hunting in Zimbabwe, having the head mounted there (or South Africa ) and shipped home.I figure at least one week and preferably two.I will have to fly economy class (1,300 vs 10,000 $ ) and found a few flights that are non-stop leaving, one stop home.
Any USEFUL info would be greatly appreciated.

I hunted Somali's in Mogadishu. Does that count??

Actually I took some time to hunt some wild boar out in the bush there in Somalia. Good eatin if it's quartered up right. I got a 3 day R&R to Nairobi Kenya and was gonna try to go big game hunting while I was there but ended up going white water rafting (beer drinking drunk fest) instead. :D

I went Cheetah hunting with a 2 x 4 once :D Here's a hint, Don't wear flip flops when you have to run down your pray :D Oh and a shorty 2 x 4 would be great but the 8' does have it's advantages if you have to suddenly Pole Vault into a tree ;) :D Other then that it's a bitch to run with  They are quick as well..I found out that Marlon Perkins did not lie  Oh and don't forget the SPF 10w40 it's like friggin Africa hot down there and many white hunters forget this factoid and simply melt :2in1: Good hunting ! If you have time stop by Arizona for a few warm up days....We have free range Alpaca's and you should see what a Barrett .50 cal does to one of those Bitches LOLOLOL Let's just say Alpaca jerky is pretty lean and they explode into nice bite size pieces ;) :D

BTW never been there but I would Love to go someday......They have amazing rock art in Africa and that I would like to see for myself one day :D

Would love to hear some war stories some time.

There was a place outside of Portland called the Safari Club. Used to hunt there occasionally, and bagged a couple felines.;) :D

Probably not helping any am I?:dontknow:  :D

I spent time in South Africa...my favorite trip of all time....

Kruger National park...they sell hunting permits from time to time to control the population and raise funds to protect other animals (rhino)...

If you get time to hit Cape Town..do it....beautiful....

Cape Buffalo are mean SOB's...what are you going to use...?....

Wrist Rocket.:D :p

Okay, I will go away now and quit Hoing the thread.

Sorry.

I have found several places here in the states to hunt exotic game, but it wouldn't be the same as going to Africa.
I am going to hunt Russian boar pretty soon here(about 400-500 lbs),but this Africa bug has bitten me hard !
I am trying to decide now which gun to use.I have a sweet deal pending on a Weatherby .460 Magnum. But I am not fully decided on that or on a .416 Rigby or maybe even a .458 Lott. With the muzzle brake on,the Weatherby isn't that bad.Not sure yet.

How are you gonna bring back whatever you slay?

Have a shoulder mount done in South Africa and shipped here . $1,300 mount,$800 shipping.Give the meat to the PH and trackers, after I have some steaks !!!!!
