Thinking of dumping the karting hobby and going down the ATV road (wife stinks on two wheels). Anyone else into this hobby?

I have never ridden a four wheeler but did many years of dirt biking as a kid. Is it more funner (ha, ha) than a bike? Come on which one is most funniest (ha, ha)? Bad grammer makes me laugh, at me.

i ride quads, been riding for about 12 years now. used to be sponsored and travel around racing motocross, now i have a house to pay for so i couldnt take a chance of getting hurt, still ride just for fun. never really rode a bike before so i cant tell which is better, but i love riding quads.

I had ATV's for a few years. They were fun as hell! But, it really depends on what you want to do... Go really fast and jump stuff? Get a dirt bike. Go trail-riding, jump some stuff? Get a Quad.

I always ride Honda's... The TRX450 is a nice quad. I had a 400EX and loved it. Lots of cool mods for them too.

They are both great, but I love quads. I had a Raptor and a 400 EX for my kid that were both stolen a couple of years ago, seems like I must attract thieving bastards somehow. Anyway, the Raptor was the most fun you could have with clothes one. That thing would wheelie with just the slightest provocation, and it flat out flew.

I always rode dirt bikes, starting with a Honda 70 when I was 7! I now have my Brother's 426 thumper and it is fun, but I really miss the Raptor.

a quad will hurt you more than a bike, got rid of all of them, you can buy a nice jeep for what quads cost these days.

All you guys selling them aren't showing me any confidence in my question. What's up?

Nothing, I'm sure.... Some folks have them for a while and either "get-over-it", or want the newest, baddest-ass thing out right now. :dontknow: :) (That's the way I am anyway. )

That's the way I was with my motorcycle. :D I went to the dealer to find a "cheap" used starter-bike... Like a old CBR 600F3 er somethin'. :dontknow: Right as I walked in the door, I was like "OH.... That's SHINY!!! What's that you say? It's NEW and kick-ass???........ I'll take it!" LOL!

one question is where do you ride?

in other words is it a tight area? or more open or sandy?

they both have thier goods and bads.

joanne digs the dirt bikes more, she feels it gives more of a challenge.

I like the four wheelers more because at speed it seems more of a workout.

most people only keep bikes a year or two then sell and get something else.

Well I am 48 and don't heal as quickly as I used to. Never wrecked mine but I have the SRT 1 to get around the 40 acres ,the SRT 10, the 67 Coronet and the 71 Duster to assemble before the Mopar Nats. It has the Honda HRC Cam kit, K&N filter, Ceramic Big Gun header, nerf bars, shock covers, after market wheels and brand new SCAT TRAC paddle tires, plus all the factory pipe, air cleaner, wheels, etc.

Quads is my preference. I have both and enjoy quading more. I hava a 03 Trx-440ex and a 89 250R dirt bike. I usualy ride w/ my nephew(dirt bike) and brother and bro-in-law. We all own quads. The best times are when my buddies and fam go together and ride. Sometimes we have a group of 20 riding. I SRTONGLY recomend a quad. If you ask me which is the one to get, well even though im a Honda rider, the Yamaha YFZ or ZF something like that...LOL...is the best. Fast as hell and still room for lots of mods.
Good Luck and T.R.E.A.D. Lightly!!!

I have been riding dirt bikes since 1971, I switched to quads in 1994. Now I prefer the quads, unfortunatly I never have the time or place to ride anymore so I will be selling my quad soon.

Bill.
