going to buy a dmax, anyone know about them? i know the basics, and issues, but i am having trouble finding real value on them.

i have a 2011 dually, totally satisfied with it. listed for 57k bought it for 48 out the door. Dodge wouldnt deal on a dually 6 grand more expensive and the dodge listed for 2 grand less. glad i went with chevy for the allison tranny. best on in the 1 ton class vehicles.

thinking about paying 16K for a 03 with 110K on it with 4wd.

I think the older duramax had issues, I know I've seen a ton of the smoking their asses off(oil smoke not black fuel smoke) you have a problem with your dodge or you just need a dually?

older ones had head issues....stick with the 5.9

me and my brother both had 2001's and 2003's no issues whatsoever and we had them modded to the hilt. only problem we had was transmission would go in limp mode when drag racing...lol

have tranny serviced, i change the fuel filter at every oil change. you can buy them cheaper by the case at napa

he said he just did tranny, he was sponsored by amsoil, so the truck has full synthetics front to rear.
plan to do the filter every 7-10K when i change the oil along with the fuel filter.
planning to do the allison deep pan with deep filter as well.
kinda of excited, have not driven an auto in a long time, not since i took my old GMC diesel off the road. i do have to switch that bowtie to a gmc thou, to make myself feel better. other then that i have to change the turbo inlet, for more flow.

the good part is i have had 6 new 16" tires for about 3 years now i have had no use for, not anymore.

other good news, 16" tires are $50 cheaper for Michelin M/S2

just got it. wow it drives like my old suburban, except the transmission is smart.
hard to explain that one.
