Anyone with young kids Should Take a look at this

Or you could just keep the doors locked, and have a gate around the pool (which is a law here in FL). :dontknow:

It is pretty amazing that someone so young can be taught to float, breath, and cry.... without truly freaking out.

2 of my sisters took their kids (between 6-12 months, cant remember..just know it was less than a year) somewhere to learn to swim. They werent taught that belly up float but they would hold their breath and swim under water with their eyes open... Someone just had to get them before their breath ran out..this was 35 years ago...

Times have changed.. I was 5 years old in 1973. I took swimming lessons at the local "Y" in Barberton, Ohio.

Week 1 Lesson 1: We put the bottom of our face under water and blew bubbles.

Week 2 Lesson 2: They put me on the diving board looking out over 10' deep water while the "instructor" begged me to jump into her arms. When I finally did, she moved away and STAYED away.

WTF? I think they would be arrested or shut down in today's politically correct climate. I could have drowned!!! But then again.. I never had problems with swimming or the water since.

My Grandpa just picked me up and threw me in the water.... "Sink or swim, Boy", he said..... I ended up a All State swimmer in High School. :D

I think Black1 Grandpa and my dad hung out together.

We all survived, and never had a problem with water, It was really funny seeing the other kids get grabbed up and thrown out ot the boat. Nothing politically correct in this methods.

Great link, will forward to others.
