Are Blue LEDs in the headlights illegal? I was thinking about putting blue LEDs in my head lights but wanted to know if its illegal to have them in. You really cant see them too much when the HIDs are on but if the parking lights are on you can see them good. They dont really stand out in the photo though.

Read your states statutes regarding lighting.
I am going to say.. probably yes it is illegal.

Yeah thats what im thinking they may say it is illegal. I probably will just put all white in there. The only other colors i found was red, green, white, orange, yellow and blue. And it seems like blue was the only color that looked cool. What ya think?

Yeah blue is a no no in most states as its usually used only by LEO's...back in the day I had some blue under carriage lights on a Dakota RT and was pulled over within minutes :)

Back in the day I had a lowrider with neon. I had a prick cop pull me over and gave me crap for
1. front bumper being to low
2. no rear bumper (rollpan)
3. Green light (neon tube) above tag. (then proceeded to take his club out, shatter the neon tube, then said that now I don't have a light on the tag)
4. Green neon tube visible from the front (you guessed it, that one got smashed too, he was a special kind of prick)

(b) The prohibition contained in subsection (a) of this Code section shall not apply to any elected sheriff who, pursuant to an agreement between the sheriff and the county governing authority, is using his or her personal motor vehicle in a law enforcement activity, provided such vehicle is marked as provided in Code Section 40-8-91.
(c) It shall be unlawful for any person to use any motor vehicle equipped with flashing, blinking, revolving, or stationary blue lights in the commission of a felony, and, upon conviction of a violation of this subsection, the punishment shall be a fine of not less than $1,000.00 or imprisonment of not less than one year, or both.

as long as they have a dot label on the bulb you are honestly fine, when the officer stops you for having a blue bulb , be quick to point out the dot lable, if he keeps on instisting on giving you a ticket, be sure to stand your ground and tell him the federal law prohibits him from ticketing you . If he still persist, give him a quick stab in the nutss and run

I say do it anyways, they will proly give a couple warnings b4 they give you a ticket, depending on where u live.

My state requires front and rear license plates and i dont have one on the front, just makes the front end look dif. I have been pulled over for it several times but since they dont docuyment it i have never goten a ticket

I would never give em a reason to be pulled over as ya never what just who you have to deal with....as many a holes out there as great guys......

In the state of ootah.... yes

Yeah there are some greats cops out there and some bad ones. I probably will swap them out.

Cops here in NC will write you a ticket as soon as they see them usually...ask me how I know lol...

BTW nice Dane!!! I have a 8yr old fawn.

I always remembered it (from my passed life as an LEO) as ANY color lights facing forward that weren't white or amber was a no-no. Definately not red. Then in the rear white lights was a no-no. Nowadays with HIDs coming standard in many foreign and domestic vehicles with various hues it's not so easy to get a citation to stick. Well, as long as it isn't blatently obvious that it's a different color like deep green or bright deep purple. Then those neon license plates from the 90's was usually probable cause to stop a motorist. Many would argue that a red license plate neon shouldn't be an issue. But that was frowned upon too because (at least in TEXAS) the law prohibited ANYTHING that was deemed to be an obstruction on the rear plates. Even those harmless plastic plate frames that emmitted NO light. That was just knit-picking and used only as one of those stupid citations to write if the motorist wouldn't shut up... :dontknow:"Keep talking and I'll keep writing," sort of thing. Other bs to write about would be: engine not off when stopped, wheels not turned towards the curb, keys not out of the ignition, etc...

The DOT sticker is your friend these days, so look for it and KNOW it is there if and/or when you are stopped. Saves you from having to take a shot at the officer's nuts.

Originally I wanted a fawn boy dog but since she was different I decided to get her. She is darker than a fawn but i just consider her fawn and white. Guess she got some jeans from one of the grand parents or something:dontknow::dontknow: Does your dane hate lil dogs or dogs that bark at him/her? Mine cant stand lil dogs for some reason put sleeps with a pug every night. Wait that may be why she hate lil dogs so much cuz she has to put up with that lil sucker lol ha ahahahahahaha

Yep. A Department of Transportation sign on parts basically indicates that the parts are gub'ment approved. So you’d be fine unless, well, unless you run into some tiny town where Sheriff Buford T. Justice is also the mayor, the judge AND the little convenience store proprietor.. “And he ain’t wuuurid ‘bout no DAMN DEEE-OHH-TEEE nonsense , boy; :secruity:GIT AOUT DA CAR!â€￾
