Good luck Jase. May you be protected from harm and have the strength to prevail.

The Marine's Prayer: (excerpt from Warrior Culture of the U.S. Marines, copyright 2001 Marion F. Sturkey)
Regardless of the situation, the Marine Corps has an answer for almost everything.
Contact with The Deity is serious business. It is also an excellent idea for Warriors who are expected to put their lives on the line against an assortment of foes. For U.S. Marines of any faith who may desire guidance when contacting their Maker, the Marine Corps has a ready aid, The Marine's Prayer:

Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family.
Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my Country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.
If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.
Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.

Without a doubt, the next few months will be pure hell, but he will be stronger for it.

Thoughts and prayers will be with him.

Oooh Rah! Nothing in the world like 13 weeks at PI.

I honestly got goosebumps reading this Eddie. Been a long time since I was there, but I know exactly what he is going through today heheh. If I close my eyes I can still smell the chowhall on that first morning, might have been the scariest part of the whole thing LOL. I also spent Christmas and New Years at PI, as well as Thanksgiving.

You have to be proud of Jase, I know that, and he deserves it. There is a reason we are The Few and The Proud. Not to diss anyone else, but there is nothing on this earth as scary to the enemy as a US Marine, and that has been earned.

Thank you Jase, I will be proud to call you my brother in arms in just a few short months. Give em hell young man.

When I give the 1SG's briefing to all the privates that arrive at my unit, I make a point to tell them that they have something that the other guy on the streets that don't join have. BALLS.

Don't worry about him, be proud of him. He got plenty of NCO's looking after him now. Were his new dad, mother, boss, counsellor, and sometimes babysitter. Believe me his health and well being will and is always our first priority.

He come back a more confident and better man, then when he left.

Good luck Jase! Eddie tell him to give me a call if he needs to blow off some steam while he's in the area. I don't live far from PI.
