HOUSTON (May 12, 2010)—Shaun Michael Finley, 21, of Spring, died Wednesday after losing control of his car on an Interstate 45 feeder road in the Woodlands.

The car ended up on top of a small building, the Department of Public Safety said.

The DPS said it appears the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a curb and became airborne.

The car came to rest on top of the Ultra Bodies Fitness Center.

Authorities don’t know what caused Finley to lose control of the vehicle.

Another reason to race at the track. R.I.P. and prayers sent to the family.

As it goes right now it was not racing related it was just a top speed run . Why he chose to do it on the service road i have not a clue:dontknow:

Wont fault him for the high speed but his choice of location is in question.

Looks like when he hit the curb the front two wheels exploded into many pieces! Bet the cars nose dug in and he must have tumbled end over end. He had to be going incredibly fast!

I second this although I have and do occasionally let her loose on the street as I am sure we all do. Thing is, most choose a desolate location where it only provides danger to ourselves and local wildlife. Seriously guys, make sure you are thinking with your DIPSTICK!:dontknow:

they said he was at least doing 90mph

I bet. Hell cars on the track that have that kind of inertia (to fly airborne) run in excess of 150!

I don't think he was going that fast but.......man I wish I remembered more from physics class back in college!

Yea theres not a useful piece on that car...sucks for the young lad though...You can see where half of his body must have been hanging out on the engine because theres blood all in that area......Sad case indeed....

This is from his myspace pictures......looks like he has done this before....

yup he had a need for speed like most of us here but it caught up with him before he learned how to do it right.......

I sure would think he'd have to be well over a 100 to end up that airborne. unlesss he hit a "Dukes of Hazzard" invisible jump or had "Knightrider" style turbo boost.
