on my 05 i installed my new B&g and where it definatley holds the power alot longer it dosent scratch 2nd anymore- don't get me wrong it pulls hard but the stock seemed like more torque was being laid down when it shifted into
2nd gear- is there a chance the pcm had been flashed by the previous owner- how would i find that out? i have the stock computer in front of me because i bought a new one and sent that one to B&g so i had the factory on hand if needed.:dontknow:

Man I rode in Z-mans with a stage 2 93 octane tune. That thing was retarded, laid a bitchin patch into 2nd. Made my stocker feel like a HEMI

If it has been flashed i will have a B&G sticker or Mopar sticker on it. The stocker should just have a couple stickers with #'s on it.

It isn't a graphical sticker but it should read either b&G or mopar pcm.

I am looking at the one i took out-and it does have the a sticker that says "authorized software update - 599AC and then it has a sequence # 779570. if i knew how to put a picture of this in this post i would- if someone can send me their email i can send a pic to you so maybe you can decifer if the previous owner of this truck had this one flashed by a different company other than B&G

That is just a factory update that almost all PCMs have and only means it has the current factory settings at that time. B&G almost always puts a yellow sticker on the PCM with B&G's name and a warning "for off road use only"...I say "almost always" because some have gotten theirs back w/o a yellow sticker....I assume Dave just forgot to put it on...

ok so its the just the stock pcm- but how come the the low end torque dosent bark the tires anymore- thats really the question here- the one i got back from Dave HAS the yellow sticker on it- Does the B&G flash reduce the shift points so that doesnt happen?

I am answering your question based on experience with the B&G flash for the SRT8s since I just got my SRT10........Drive like ya stole the thing for a while. Usually you will begin to see better performance after a couple hundred miles.

This was the norm for most 6.1 Hemi flashes including mine....I had the B&G stage 3 flash and my Charger would sometimes go sideways when I hit 2nd...but it was not like that when i first installed the flashed PCM...

If you do not see an improvement after 300 miles I would call Dave at B&G and request a reflash...some have done this and saw much improvement afterwards..

The factory boxes use "Torque Management" to reduce or actually cut power during the shift. The performance flash allows for a much firmer shift. I wouldn't worry too much about whether or not it barks the tires anymore. Was it cool out the first time you tried it? Are you trying it on the same stretch of road? Has it rained or have they washed the streets since you tried it the first time? etc; etc.

The DC performance box (Stage 2) on mine had 2 yellow stickers "Off Road Use Only".

What is your current shift point?

If all else fails buy another ecu, ship the box on the truck now to to DC Performance or a Vendor of your choice and have it checked or flashed. You can keep your brand new box for warranty visits, etc.

You can then marvel at just how much performance was compromised by the factory box...

tn what do you think of your stage 3 for your srt8,i just bought a spare pcm for mine, don't know if i want the stage 2 or 3

Get the stage 3...big difference...I have had both...the stage 3 shifts much, much harder. You get rid of all TQ control....

I bought my pcm used, it had been flashed by B & G, sent it to DC Perf and they reflashed and put their own sticker on it.

Road conditions change everything, so make sure your comparing apples to apples.

TNviper has a good point too......drive the hell out of it and see if it gets better. If not send it back to B & G for a reflash.
