I recently installed the B & M shifter to rid myself of the 3rd shift problem. It worked for a week or so & now I am missing 3rd again every now & then. The shifter appears to go into something but it is not in gear:confused: Anyone else have problems like this?
Thanks Al

I have missed a gear with mine but it has not gone into a phantom gear when I do.. I know exactly what gear I messed up on everytime. :)

You interested in our NE GTG this weekend?

Unfortunately, I can't make it.

I was missing 3rd with my Gen IV. I just figured out that I was trying to go more toward 5th then 3rd (I was pushing the shifter more toward the northeast vs north north east). When I concentrated on going almost directly north northeast with the shift I had no problem with 3rd.

I think I was thinking that 3rd was further away from me then it actually is.

I never missed 3rd, even with the stocker. I went to a B&M for the lower and shorter throw.

I was taught by some Viper guys that you should hold the shifter in a pistol grip, however point your palm towards the passenger door. When I have done this I have never missed 3rd. I only do this if shifting hard though.

You are probably going into reverse and the electronic cut out is kicking in, hence the phantom gear. I did this a couple of times when I first got the truck.

Interesting.... Now I have an answer to one of those questions I have never asked about putting it in reverse by accident. Thanks Marc!!!

Also Note: Upgrade the fluid in the new Slave/Master Assy. to Motul 600.

With all I have done heat got to it and I couldnt get into 3rd on my 4th pass at the track.

Thanks for the help;) I will do a little more research on my shifting habits.
Thanks Al
