Just got my b&m shifter in and I need to know if I can use the factory hurst shifter handle on top the shifter? I really am a little anal when it comes to keeping the truck looking factory.

do you mean the shift knob or the chrome hurst shift lever?
Sorry man, I thought you were asking about the shifter ball on top. I am not sure about the chrome lever. I didn't try it. :dontknow:

personallly. i wouldnt bother with the factory hurst handle. i broke 3 so far, granted i do shift hard sometimes, but the things are so flimsy. finally on the 3rd one i was short on cash so i cut 4 inches off the bottom, drilled 2 3/8ths holes in it on the drillpress, and bolted it direct to the base without the rubber garbage. it works for now. but back to the topic, i would keep the b&m handle.

p.s. if anyone on here has a handle that will work on my truck CHEAP please pm me. i hate to rig things but i recently found out a rugrat is on the way and money has become extremely tight. thanks

If your talking about the shifter ball, yes it will screw right onto the black B&M shifter arm. If your talking about using the Hurst shifter arm on the B&M base, I don't think so. Didn't really try it but the B&M base is threaded whereas the Hurst base just had holes for the rubber isolator bolts to pass through. If the holes in the polished Hurst arm line up with the holes in the B&M base then perhaps something could be rigged up. I'll do some investigating this weekend.

I have the B&M and, no, you cannot use the Hurst handle. However, I used a metal brush wheel on a bench grinder and removed the black anodization. Then used Never dull and polished the arm up. Looks stock, except it says B&M instead of Hurst. Standby...I'll post a pic.......

Here ya go. You cant see it but the B&M shows up same as HURST does on the stock handle.
