It finally arrived, although a bit dirty.

Nothing a little soap, water, and vacuuming couldn't remedy.:D

Overall, it's pretty good. There are tons of small detail items that will get this car into real show condition, but not a bad driver-quality car as-is.

Absolutely beautiful. I had a green 68 Hemi Charger R/T that I bought in 1974 for 2300.00 all my friends thought I was nuts to pay that much for a used car!! It was in showroom condition with 21000 miles.

Awesome!!!!!!!!

Damn that body is straight! A little better than "not bad". That car is NICE!

It photographs well, but up close you begin to see all of the little things that it needs.

Quite a bit of the trim needs to be straightened, buffed, or replaced.
Paint gaskets under the marker lights, mirrors, door handles, and locks are missing or damaged.
The seat belts are gross, and missing the shoulder harnesses.
The seat covers are great, but they didn't replace the foam when they were recovered.
The A/C and cruise control are missing parts and/or don't work.
The rear defog is completely gone (except for the dash switch).
The visors need help.
The instrument lamps are all burned out, and the gauge faces are all badly faded.
The suspension and steering boxes are about shot.
One of the rims was curbed and bent.
The glove box liner is completely gone.
The center console was broken in transit.
The dash had two holes cut in it for speakers.
The passenger seat adjuster is broken.
The trunk is missing the jack and spare, and the fuel fill tube was painted (supposed to be bare metal).
The passenger exterior door skin is beginning to crack around the door handle mounts.

...that's the short list.:p

But hey, it runs, and the paint's pretty nice. It's a good place to start a restoration.

i take it it has the 440 in it

o and it had to have a stripe :D huh

Yup. License plate even says so.

The stripe delete option was very rare on R/T models, so the stripe is to be expected.;)

However, aside from a Hemi or 4-speed, it has virtually every possible option offered for the model year. There were between five and seven '68 R/T's that were as fully optioned as this one was.

  • Power windows
  • Power brakes
  • Power steering
  • Power antenna
  • Air conditioning
  • Cruise control
  • Tinted glass
  • Premium radio/8-track stereo
  • Rear defog
  • Mag wheels
  • Center console
  • Bucket seats w/ headrests
  • Hood turn signal indicators
  • Deluxe interior lighting package
  • Front seat shoulder harnesses
