One of the consequences of buying the Charger R/T is having to sell all of the projects (except the truck, of course). I figured someone here might have a need for a street/strip blown big block, so I thought I'd post up.

It's an all iron engine, forged bottom end, and o-ringed block. It was built to run 30psi of boost. The blower is a Mike Kuhl 14-71 with a BDS electronic fuel injection system (runs an early FAST controller). The drive system is a 14mm, with a Kevlar belt. This is not your run of the mill street drive system. I also have several pulleys for changing the drive ratio. It has a standard mechanical water pump, alternator, MSD trigger and distributor.

It cranks out about 900hp at 10psi on pump gas w/ a little octane booster, and about 1400hp on race gas at about 28psi.

The engine is turn-key for street use. The ECU has the pump gas tune in it, and all of the connections just plug right in. Just add an ignition box and fuel. I think I even have and MSD 7AL ignition box I can throw in.

It came from a street driven Camaro, with about 1500 miles and 5-6 passes on the build. The owner had reportedly spent just shy of 25k building it. He was changing up the car for racing only, and had started building a blown alcohol engine to replace this one. Got to hear it before he pulled it. Totally made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

It's a beast of an engine, but manageable on the street with the EFI system.

It's all crated and ready to ship. (The plastic-wrapped bundle has the ECU and wiring harness.)

Asking 9k + freight costs. (There's easily 9k in the blower, drive, and EFI system.)

Selling at 9k, it's already costing thousands...

Dang!!!!! If I hadn't spent about that just to save face on the hood project, I would have PayPaled tonight! That would have been perfect for my 92 model truck that needs an engine.:(

Damn...that would bolt right into the 454SS... If I only had 9K sitting around.:(

Got a few people in singapore thinking hard.............

If memory serves it should be a bolt in, but get some more opinions to be safe.

Btw John, I'll be buying that hood soon...................well maybe later but i'll be buying the hood none the less.

Thanks for what you done man!

And I'll be HAPPY with it I'm sure..................;)

Ram:

I have a 65 GTO I am building for just such a motor.

Can you send me the specs on the internals? Curious to know brand of crank, rods, etc.

My former race car builder had a near identical motor in his pink :)confused: ) Chevy II. He changed to a twin turbo and just won "Worlds fastest street car" with it. Nice spread in Hot Rod mag this month.

Anyway, let me know on the specs and I'll be in touch. Thanks,

I thought so too, until I saw it had an automatic in it. I kind of always figured tow vehicles had auto's and real race cars have a clutch.;) :D

Larson's chevy II went 7.50 @187 and change with 20 lbs of boost after drag week......and it has a clutch.
