Yeah I would like to go lower if its doable but from what it sounds like is that it is more of a pain in the butt than what it is worth. Ill keep looking into it. Would still like to see any pics of some trucks that have been lowered further than the basic 2-4 drops. I just mainly drive it around town once in awhile and Ive dealt with low low cars before so being extra cautious over bumps and up driveways doesnt really bother me.
Ok here goes, but you have to be willing to do this ok
go out on the x kit , I really dont think its as low as mine i think mine is 1/4 lower or the other way around cant remember, but either way.
look at the realationship between the lower control arm and the frame, turn the wheel to the side if you need, but where the bumpstop goes.
if you look with a 2 inch front drop you have to remove the oem bumpstop an go with a shorter one, too much lower and you will be bumping frame in the front.
now go look at the rear, in fact I think you will find garys 2/4 drop uses 3 inch blocks in the rear, which again you must cut the oem bumpstop down to almost nothing, leaving you with about 2-3 inches of travel for the rear suspension.
now to go lower in the rear is easy, shorten the driveshaft, and do a c notch.
in other words you cut a section out of the frame so that the axle will have more travel upwards.
now on the front if you look the frame there will ahve to be modified also, but look at the angle the uppper control arm is, it will be angled as to the point you are loosing some travel and geometry due to this,
now once you fix this by modifieng the lower section of the frame, then fabbing new mounts for the upper control arm you are left with the inner fender and the tie rod ends.
i know you will hit the inner fender as some complain aobut that even with mine being the correct spring rate
so you must remove the inner fender or fab a new one wwhich means moving all the elctronics an so forth.
then your gonna have to modify the tie rod ends, I have a fix to flip the tie rod ends to cut back on bumpsteer, jsust trying to get the right adapter combination built first.
but its a pain bud, hell I really dont like selling the three inch blocks because with a three inch block in the rear you are at the point of bottoming out the front of the driveshaft into the trans
