Yes, the current "SPIKE" in recovery, or production, is all a buzz. the usgs seems to think it is vast, I hope they find lotsa "SWEET SPOTS", I like how in the read "It is an art" findin the OIL , funny thing is, them ole boys smell it, they feel it, it's pbobably real exciting to be an oil man :rock: :rock:

Since oil and other hydrocarbons are essentially made up of marine life, pretty much anyplace on Earth where an ancient sea used to exist for an extended period of time is where vast oil reserves can be located. Even stretching from the Himalayan Mountains to Egypt (where the Tethys Sea used to be) is a place that would have huge oil deposits (notice Saudi I smack dab in the middle of that region). But closer to home, the Pacific Ocean used to be spread across the Rocky Mountains area from Alaska all the way down to western Mexico, so yes that would be a place to look. But like it's been said, it won't happen.. And that's the straight POOP.. Policy Over Our Pumps....Pulled Out Of Production... Purity Over Our Petrol... Practically Out Of Probablility.... Ahh you get the picture.

not quite true Tim.. there are many oil and gas companies drilling and flowing in the Bakken Shale...i actually bought 100k shares into one of these companies, ( though it was at $0.32 when i bought it...) Western Standard. though they have lost their ass, many other companies are flurishing. here is a diagram of all the companies drilling and exploring the Bakken Shale.

they said between the dakotas the rockies and I believe wyoming, they say there is enough shale for thousand of years, again the tree huggers and dems against oil are holding them up. They dont realize the amount of jobs this would create. They also say it is easier andcheaper then the canadians doing the same thing but with sand. If these morons realized petro is used for more then fuel, everything from your computer your tyiping on to the tuperware you keep your food in just about 90% of anything that has plastic rubber metal etc there is some sort of petroleum product in it. Yeah alternative fuels are fine but that doesnt stop the fact petro is used for more then just fuel.
