IF A PERSON IS SELLING HIS TRUCK AND PURCHASED THE MAXCARE WARRANTY 7/75000- HOW MUCH OF THE $$$ SHOULD ONE EXPECT TO BE REFUNDED FROM DODGE ?????

I JUST HAVE 7000 MILES ON A 2006 RC SO THE EXTRA WARRANTY WAS NEVER USED AND I THOUGHT I READ WHERE IF YOU SELL YOU SHOULD GET A PARTIAL REFUND FOR ANY AMOUNT NOT USED- DOES THAT MEAN 100 % OR NOT. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS ?????

ANY HELP APPRECIATED

As I recall from Contract Law...you are entitled to zip, nada, zilch...

Sorry, but it reverts to the concept of Buyer Beware.

you just need to go to the selling dealer and cancel the contract you will get a full refund minus a 75 dollar cancellation fee

IF you financed it then the finance company will receive the check

If you haven't gone into that portion of the extended warrenty, they will give you a full refund without any processing fee. At least that's what happened when I traded in my Hemi Quad Cab for my RC.

they recently changed the policy to a 75 cancellation fee. some still do not have it but all newer chrysler service contracts have em

Yep.. since you are still into your factory 3/36 warranty you should get 100% back (or back to finance company), minus any cancellation fees.. and sometimes you can talk them into waiving that..... just use your negotiation powers...

Caveat emptor

Just to fill in a gap what Mopar said is exactly right and the dealer has to send the money to the finance company. Now most of the time when you ask for a refund you talk directly to the business manager. He makes commission on selling you the extended warranty so his inclination to help you out is money out of his pocket. Make sure to deliver your request in writing with a date it needs to be completed by (30 days is fine).
Also call your finance company in 30 days to make sure they got the money and for the right amount.

I had this same situation and the business manager told me he would have it done in 30 days, long behold nothing got done and I had to hve my attorney make a quick phone call to get them to do it.
Just an FYI.

Can you cancel it if you still own the truck and have not gotten into the warranty?

Every time the warranty issue is raised, my blood pressure goes up about 90 points.

"Warranty....(hah...!) excuse me while I die laughing............."

D

Thats why I am asking. I plan on modding my truck more and don't plan on waiting to hit my 6 year 70K mark before I do mod. I would rather have the money back for mods or to lower my principal on my payment.

Besides sounds like most of the guys who do have warranty issues are getting the old boot from DC.

even if you use the extended service contract, it is prorated when its cancelled. i bought a service contract with my 00 dakota and did alot of stuff to the truck that was covered under the contract. i had about 5 years left and 40,000 miles left of coverage and cancelled it, i got about 75% of my money back that I paid for it.
