My truck is about at the 11k miles mark and I was thinking about having my bands adjusted at 15k miles and the transmission flushed. I am assuming they are going to remove the transmission pan to do this and was wondering if a dealership would have a problem replacing it with a Mag-hytec pan? Do you guys recommend the dealership do this? I live relatively close to Suncoast and have only heard good things about them. I am just not that rich :(

Any guesstimates on how much I am looking at spending to have the tranny flushed and bands adjusted and anything else I should look at them to do at this time?

Thanks,

Paul

to do a trans flush the pan is not removed. but you need to remove the pan to adjust bands. so you're looking at 2 seperate services... here's what we charge flush=179.95 trans service=149.95... note you must use atf+4 and that is the majority of the cost of the service. I like the hyper Mag-Hytec pan and would install it without a prob for a customer. most dealers agree with the larger pan.

and if your diff is due to be serviced at 15k

Had my Mag-Hytec installed by the dealer no problem !!!!One thing to remember,it adds an additional Gallon of Tranny fluid to the change !!!The dealer did both my tranny and diff covers with only the additional charge for the fluids !!!

A Local trannsmission shop quoted me 275.00 To adjust bands and Change Tranny fluid. These guys are the owners and work on their customers cars themselves + superior service. Screw the Stealership.

You know this post was originally a PM to you, but I figured I would throw it out here to see what everyone had to say. :D You answered my question anyway

Dennis, please PM me the dealership you used to service your truck (or, please feel free to post it here!)......

The ONE MAJOR issue that I have with my truck is the transmission. I asked my dealer to look at that tranny (that slips at ANY speed), and they said "it is fine". :dontknow:

I would GLADLY pay to have the bands adjusted (even though it should be under warranty).... and replace the pan w/ a Mag-Hytec. I just need to have it done. if I can get this done and out of the way, I will be MUCH more inclined to keep the truck.

Thanks in advance, Dennis. :)

Jake,I've been having good luck with Sunshine Dodge right there on US 1 since I moved over here !!Believe it or not, they even said on the side that when I get my PCM reprogrammed to my truck, that THEY (the service tech and the Viper Tech) would work with me as they would be the only ones to know anyway !!!The Service Tech is also the guy that turned me on to the PorterField Brake Pads !!!! I give them a   rating for sure !!!
