Have been kickin these around because I am thinking of swapping out the headers I have now. Thing is that a vendor my Dad was speaking with seems to think these are made pretty crappy. Is this the case?

Just looking for some opinions on the Bassanis from those in the know and from those who have them. Are there problems with these headers? Bad welds, poor workmanship, etc.?

As far as shorties, Gibson and Bassani seem to be it. Was considerring American Racing until I saw the 2K price tag.

I dont think there is anything wrong with them, No reason to change, unless you see a problem.. And if you do go with the Belangers..

I had Bassani's on two different RC's with no problems and they look great. What's on your truck now?

Anyone that I've seen with Bassanis swear by them. So that made me go and get a set. They're coated, look purdy and get the job done. So for someone to say they are crappy only means they have some evil, twisted, diabolical scheme up their sleeve IMO.

bassani or shorty gibons are fine ,,,just get a new set of OEM gaskets for either ,dont use any gasket they provide,,,,OEM BABY:)

Havent had a problem with mine, some of them (its more the heads then the headers) you have use the oem with the shim's they send with them other then that unless they are the 1 5/8's those where the only one with problems but for the V10 they are 1 3/4.

I've heard Gibsons are junk. Even had an offer from a forum member a couple years ago to send me a set for shipping only.

know two with gibs ,,,no complaints ,,,you say catsup some say katsup:p

I Have had mine on for a year or so, Luv em, lot of compliments on them. They fill up the motor compartment a little. Not to bad to install. Adds something to the sound of the Truck.

I have Bassanis . They look good and have had on leaks. You need OEM gaskets. The plastic inter fenders don't like them.

You 06 guys must have either a smaller engine bay or bigger plastic liners? I can take mine on and off without taking out the wheel wells.

Maybe its my ROE but the heat coming off the headers is melting the inner fender on the right side.

You have to either cut a hole there or cover with heat tape............17K miles on my Bassanis and have never even had to tighten even one screw..

I did cut about 2" off the fender but they are still melting. When I dyno'd it they were glowing red.

Ditto that. I am running the Roe with no glowing bassanis:confused: sounds like your mixture is off.

I have Bassani's, and I have no problems, and no melting.

Bill.
