doing a little moving around of things in the engine compartmento and figured I would ask a questiono.

What guage cable should be used from the battery to the connector for about 20ft of cable?

I'm thinking of 1 guage or 2 guage or 00 guage.

I know most kits come with 2 guage, but want to be safe as I can.

I would recommend the 1 gauge Stinker. At a 20 ft length you will want to compensate for line loss at high cranking amps or inrush at start. The voltage drop at this length at high current will be about 3 volts per 500 amps, this is off the cuff numbers without actually doing the formula. Im not sure what the cranking amperage draw is on our trucks but I believe it can exceed 900 amps. Your battery will handle this load and last longer with this upgrade. Just remember, the longer the run the larger the gauge wire especially when it comes to DC. My opinion.

Thats what I got bro, looked at both and got the one guage, show some pics when done, not doing hte switch for now, its more for making room under the hood thsn anything, getting it away from the heat. thanks for ya'lls replies.
