Battery relocation engine bay pics?

Anybody have pics of their engine bay after a battery relocation? Looked on JMBs website and all it shows is pics of the new battery location. Trying to see what it looks like without the batter and tray in there. Also, did you use a new bracket for the fuse box or relocate that as well. Pics would be great! Thanks!

will do mine one day, lol.

Justin is supposed have a bracket to hold the fuse box in the stock location
 
Yeah I heard that too....I did a google search and actually came across some pics of Dom's truck. So now I have a faint idea of what it would look like....however Dom has a lot of "extras" in his engine bay that I certainly won't have.
 
yep, there is a temp sensor, helps the puter charge the battree.

ya can either leave it whar it is or make a real long extinsion harness

As far as just extending the wires and moving it to the new tray or would the extra "resistance" from the longer wire cause issues? I didn't see a resolve on the battery temp sensor issue.

Its j/ a 2 wire sensor so for piece of mind i think if i ever did this relocation id move the sensor

Post #41 shows a little bit of what it looks like with a few of the items you talked about relocated. Battery, fuse panel, ABS module, the entire engine wiring harness, etc. FYI, It was alot of work to get it where it is at now.

Your relocation was extreme though lol. I was waiting for you to tuck the engine into the bed or something next lol. Looks clean as f*** though

Thank for the guidance....worked on it some last night. It's always amazing to see how much crap they have bolted to something as simple as a battery tray...and how akward it can be to get to those bolts.

Looks awesome man! You hard work (I can only imagine how difficult that was) has truly paid off. It is the definition of CLEAN! Won't go that far with mine (at least not yet ;) ) but I just plan on fabbing up some brackets to tuck certain things out of the way and maybe making some decent looking sheilds to hide everything else.

Thanks, if you are interested in cleaning it up a perfect place to start is the battery. As others have stated Justin has a bracket built to take the place of the factory battery tray to help hold the fuse panel and ABS module. Thats a great place to start! To move the ABS and fuse panel are huge jobs so the bracket is a good way to begin. On one of my first clean up attempts I took and turned the fuse box on its side, then build a bracket for it and that alone was a big help (I just looked for any pictures of this and I cant find any).

Other ideas is the passenger side battery tray, the felt piece that runs along the front side of the cowl, the hood insulation generally is a eye sore, etc.

I am trying to remember what they look like atock and man its been a while. I can hardly remember what else is a easy clean up fix.
 
Thanks for all the input! I actually have removed all three of those already. As far as the bracket, my good friend is a welder so we are looking at making some brackets and using painted sheet metal to hide other areas.
 
Hmmm.........crazy thought of mine, but I am knee deep into relocating my battery and just noticed the kits place the battery on the left side of the bed? I've never noticed this till now:dontknow: I have planned all along to put it on the right side to offset all the weight on the left side already. Gas tank, charcoal canister, driver, original battery location, steering column,fusebox, ABS controller, etc. all on the Left side! I know the starter is on the Left and therefore a straight shot with wiring, but if we are relocating the battery for weight transfer it's better on the right IMO. If you are simply doing it to clean up the engine bay, then I guess it wouldn't matter.:dontknow::burnout:
 
I decided to put mine in the bed. For one, it's easier to do...especially since I already had a generic battery relocation kit from my stealth. Also, seems it would be easier to change and access for jumping. Doesn't look great but I have a tanneau cover. If I didn't have one, I would go with Justin's kit and do in front of the tire.
