But one of them had a message for Eddie:

Or maybe in the summer, my neighbor's wife running naked for the hot tub!

Captured a new small buck with a strange (maybe just broken) rack...this is a new guy...still getting lots of doe's but the bucks are tough to get to pose for pictures!

My house is always open to you...

Do bucks drop their antlers each year? Then regrow them?

Be careful with "Thin those old boys out" language...Clint will take you literally:eek:

yes they drop their antlers every year and re grow them. they will be in velvet normally during the summer and early fall horns are real soft then some get broken during that time because they are so soft but most get broken fighting with bigger bucks for breeding rights.

When do the antlers drop? Early spring? Those big guys don't stray too far from here, maybe I will be able to find some of them...

yes springtime, we always hunt for sheds in the spring before the snakes start crawling.

Way early spring for deer and elk both up here. Lots of people buy the sheds to make things out of, but it's fun to find them in the woods.

I have 14 deer living on my place and a couple of nice bucks chasing the girls around. Love to sit and just watch em anytime of year.

Nice pics prof!!

Gotta LOVE that country livin'..

Best wishes.

I love the wildlife...we feed birds, and one of the side benefits is that we are now beginning to see many more predator birds (hawks, owls, etc.) we are placing some Kestrel nest boxes and bat houses this spring...last year we put out blue bird boxes and had two blue bird nests and one house swallow nest...

A month or two ago we saw a bob cat, (we have lots of coyotes), and it was one only two or three bob cat sightings in the past two or three years locally. Chicago is very close, so it is really exciting to see the resurgence of wild animals here.

Christine says we spend a couple of hundred dollars a month feeding the birds, but it is really worth every cent.
