Well I was getting my tires rotated and balanced... and yep...I have a bent rim. I don't remember hitting or running over anything ever. It's bent on the inside. Is it repairable or do I need to buy a new one?
Someone chime in with repair companys, and somewhere to buy new or used.
This really sucks. How the F did a rim get bent just driving around?

They can be repaired, look for a wheel repair place in your area.
There are many such places in So Cal:D

In my experience its your tire installer who bent your rim. I've had two bent by two different shops. Both of which I took to small claims and won. The area that was bent lined up perfectly with their tire machines. It was so obvious even the judge admitted to having no mechanical aptitude could figure out what happened. Now I stay away from tire shops and stick with my local dealer, vendor extraordinaire Avondale Dodge!

Any ideas where I can get a repair or new, used rim?:dontknow:Anyone have an extra one for sale?

Nah...All they did was rotate my tires and it was bent on the inside. (More like warped.)

I have a bent rim too. Not on the outside edges but in the interior of the rim where it should be just about impossible to hit it. Someone must have center punched a brick or something like it. It doesn't affect the ride or balance but there is a pronounced bulge on the inside of the rim. :dontknow:

Thats where mine were bent....same bulge. Matched up perfectly with the tire machine i.e. too much clamping pressure. Owner actually stood there and denied that it could have been his machine. I snapped a couple pix as he watched and told him see you in small claims.

Unlike Scoobutt I told the judge rather than the $800 retail cost I found one used for $200 and to have it refinished (permastar) was another $200. Total was only $500 rather than $800. Owner didn't even say thank you for saving him $300...

Naa, mine is in a place where no tire machine I know of touches it. My bulge is in the center of the wheel between the two mounting surfaces.

I thought the same thing.....in fact the second bent rim had two bulges from when the 18yr old spun the rim on the machine and reclamped before continuing with mounting the new tire. I've still got that rim sitting up on my shelf now. I had the first bent one fixed and have it as a spare.

Can you post the name of your local shop and/or a link to their web site?
]I guess no one on here has one for sale.
I am in N.C. so shipping should be reasonable I would think.

This is an old thread but I have a bent rim! I picked up a nail and had the local fountain tire do the repair and now I have a noticeable warped tire!!! I am having a real problem with service in my area!!

I'm getting tires done local in my home town.( in a few days) Is there a nice/constructive way to tell the installer to beaware that our rims bend easy so be careful. I don't like insulting people but i don't need any bent rims either.

Sorry my bad!!! Wobbly wheel isn't the one I had repaired! Hmmmm.......

The last tire shop scratched the shit out of my road rash wheel from the previous owner just swapping it out for an aftermarket wheel. Now that I have had It repaired I want to find someone local who won't scratch or bend my wheels. I might just wait until I need new tire to even worry about it. :afraid:

Well , I spent some time sanding all surfaced the wheel attaches to and the wheel still wobbles! The only shock the tires saw was hitting 2nd gear instead of 4th! It was kind of violent but wow!!! I have a spare so I will
Switch the tire over but I want tomtry to straighten it some time. I need to fab a jig.... Hmm...
