To answer the OP original question, since I have an 04. I would recommend 4.56 gears with either the M&H 390-40-17 Drag radial (29.5" tall) or the M&H Cheater slick (30" tall, but have to shave the calipers for 16" wheel). He will be able to go 118+ without shifting into 5th gear. Assuming power levels up to about 550 rwhp.
Watch this video of the in cab shifting between Arnie and Myself. He has 4.10's and I have 4.56. I realize my truck has more mods and weight reduction than Arnie but it will give somewhat of an idea of the shift intervals (how much sooner I shift into each gear) since I loaned Arnie my Drag radials (29.5" tall) and my slicks are 30" tall. Tire height is similar.
