My 2006 QC shifts to high gear at 110, at that point it seems like the engine starts bogging. It makes a completely different sound, it keeps pulling up to 155 but not near as strong as third. I understand the higher gear and all, but it definitely changes tone. It is all stock except for a CA intake and the dynoflow exh. I had a stock G8 GT out run me and that shouldn't happen, I had it up to 4th gear and then it pulled off like I hit the brakes.

stop racing aero-dymanic cars in a brick! Sct or a pcm flash work probly give you what your looking for...

Yep, a lot of drag at that speed. The sound is due to the strain on the motor in 4th gear at the lower RPM's. The faster you go in these trucks the more of a wall of resistance you hit due to the crappy aerodynamics.

Two things:

(1) At THAT particular time, if your fuel isn't up to the task (high enough octane), it could be pulling timing which will slow it down. If it is a stock e.c.u. and you are drawing in ambient over 95F. it WILL be pulling timing, like 8 degrees of it! Your engine is under major grunt right about then.

And of course, as mentioned, you are trying to push a brick (with more frontal area than a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood) at a high rate of speed.

(2) While you are at it, have your tuner wring out your 3-4 shift to 125 m.p.h./6050 r.p.m. (I did). It makes a world of difference.

You can thank Dodge for putting a 3 speed shifter on a 4-speed transmission...;)

Now, you may resume you G8 hunting...

Don't you just hate it when facts get in the way of a conversation?
Listen, if my wife keeps cutting .002s and .001s, who else should be driving??:dontknow:
Besides, it is way more fun to see the Viper cars behind the truck through the traps, from my position (not driving).

I've got one more thing to say to you here- :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :D

74F! When will this heat wave end!!! ;)

Say what?????

I would like to have my trans shift points re done but for now I just hold the Tow/Haul button. @ the time of racing I didn't know it would do that.

Also note that my wife was driving one pass, we done three passes

My truck gets quite confused in T/H mode when using the LOW M&H 390 drag radials. (They are even lower than their advertised height).
Sometimes it will lockout O/D and sometimes it won't. Same goes for converter lockup.

It could be that the info coming from the ABS sensors doesn't make sense to the e.c.u (wheels are turning much faster for the rear sensors than the front, with the Drag Radials on)...

T/H always works as it should with the 22s...so it must be something like that.
