My 2005 QC adjustable brake peddle started wobbling sideways. Not the bushings. The chrome plug that goes into the top of the peddle bracket was backed out. Fixed that and then the plastic that fits into the grove on top of the adjustment bar broke and came out. Can I get a replacement plastic part or does it require the entire assembly? :dontknow: If I do not make since it is because you have not had this problem or never looked at the assembly breakdown. :dontknow: Hopefully some of you have some knowledge on this issue.
Thanks in advance.

you need to replace the plastic bushing . gotta take the pedals apart to install them. the kit is about 50 bucks from the dealer

True story!

thank you sir but the bushings are brand new. the rod that the brake pedal rides on has a grove down the center that a "key' fits into. the key goes thru the brake pedal bracket and holds the pedal to the shaft. inside the shaft grove is a piece of plastic. Looks like it has something to do with the raising and lowering of the pedals. Here is the pic of the plastic. looks like the piece broke in two pieces and then came out.

His problem came from a Dodge Viper Tech installing his bushings. Now the pedal itself swings from the rest of the stalk.

guess someone should have had Dr Viper do the job right the first time..

He was 3 hours away and it was scary loose. Usually only a QC thing and there aren't other parts available other than bushings and motor. They took vise grips to his pedal at this dealership! Not to mention leaving a customer in a potentially hazardous situation. Now, myself am no brake pedal assembly specialist so not sure outside replacing assy with one from here or salvage yard. I'll know better once I see it in person. The clip he shows I believe is part of the lock that keeps pin in place holding pedal horizontal and in place. His literally would swing freely left and right 6" now. :(
It's common in 02+ Rams with autos unfortunately like the bushings.

the part that is broken looks to come off the adjuster, the screw that moves the pedal in and out, the plastic part is what keeps it from moving side to side if that is what you are picturing, there is a plastic slider on the inside that centers the pedal in the adjuster

Exactly. I feel it can be repaired rather than replaced as his pedals were moving fine. Just the pedal was not where you wanted it when you went to stab the brakes. The chrome pin atop pedal assy is what they removed with vise grips and that's what came loose allowing pedal to swing freely.

Is there anything you haven't covered with these trucks? Geez, you're like an encyclopedia. Glad you're on here!
