Took the beast to work the other day, right before I got to where we park my truck seemed like the tranny was slipping. I would be holding a steady speed and rpm's, then all of a sudden it would rev up between 500-800 rpm's higher and felt like it wasn't putting the power to the ground. Next time it did that, it revved up and then made a loud banging noise and I could feel the truck jerk. It did that twice, and my best guess was it was slipping out of gear and that's why it would rev up and feel like it's not going anywhere. Then when it went back into gear that was the loud noise and jerk.
So I parked the truck and checked my tranny oil and it was way above the max fill line. Looked underneath the truck and the bellhousing was saturated with tranny oil, oil spots all under my truck, and a small tranny oil leak. I think that either the factory or dealer put way too much tranny oil in and I might have blown a gasket or seal. I never touched my tranny oil at all, and to be honest I never even checked the tranny oil level till this day. I figured that they would have it at the proper level from the factory, or that the dealer would make sure they checked it.
Truck going in on the 3rd to get looked at by dealer over here, and even though it's covered under warranty, I'm pretty fukin bummed out. I almost want my tranny to be broken so I can get a brand new one.
Has anyone heard of this happening before? I'm no mechanic so I could be wrong about what's really the problem, this is just what I suspect to be the culprit.
I can't wait to get it fixed and drive it again, this truck is very addicting to drive. It makes any other truck seem so very boring to drive.
Appreciate anyone's input. Aloha.
