from personal experience i dont see this happening if the vette guy really tried. or maybe he downshifted to fourth instead of lower? drove a 02 z06 for a daily driver for 19 months. just a cold air kit it ran 12.6 at 117 1.9 60fts. my 04 srt runs 13.1 at 105 2.1 60fts. so your best chances are red light to red light cause after that its over. my coworker owns a ls2 06 c6. we ran against each other at the track twice side by side till half track or so and then he pulls away. not saying you didnt get a kill. but it aint becouse the car. swap cars with the guy and you would have whipped your own truck, cause then you would have the faster driver and faster vehicle!

ALWAYS possible. I account it to the fact in my races that the LS2s were autos, as was I at the time. I pulled from the jump and kept the lead. He was shocked as it still had dealer tags on it. Maybe it wasn't broken in?
I still own my Vette and I can say the C5Z with the lower geared tranny and right driver is indeed a mid to high 12s car. On the same token, I've raced a few mid to high 12s SRT10 trucks with nothing but headers and tune. A heckuva lot depends on the driver and TRACTION!!
