really ? you don't remember off hand what the tap size was, do ya ?

what about this i hear about the stock bushing & an aluminum outer bushing that i have to remove ? i thought it was a one piece, but it sound like i have a two piece to remove ?

thanks.

Yes, you are missing the shorter bolt. You can take a die set to the stocker or you can use a spacer to take up the area that is not threaded.

Yes, you need to take the aluminum sleeve out. Cut it a piece out with a sawsall or hacksaw.....Then take the rest out with a chisel.....Like it was mentioned, putting the suplied aluminum bushing in the freezer will help in pressing it into the leaf spring but if you have access to a press then its a non issue.

man I sure dont bro, been thinking for awhile now, and dont want to tell ya wrong.
but after ya get it out , run it to napa and they can get you the right one for it

Put aluminum bushing in freezer as posted above. When ready to install, take a heat gun and heat the eye of the spring til its good and hot. The bushing should slide right in.

Pushing it apart..

the install is pretty easy, well most of it:D
the only bad thing is the front bushing, and actually if ya look at both sides, its pressed in from one side, I actually took a big fookin hammer (12lb) and knocked it right out:D but a press is tons easier.
but I adjusted mine down untill it touched on the drivers side and one turn on the pasenger side,.
so you adjusted both sides til they touched, then one full turn on the passenger side after that ?

thanks.

yeppers, but I weigh around 250lbs and didnt have any help at the time so I figured when I was in the truck it put weight on the drivers side and would add the pressure on the spring.

but the correct way is to sit, or have someone sit in the truck and run them down until they touch and then one full turn if not mistaken.

I just installed mine last week. The new short center bolt was to big to fit into the axle housing saddle. I had to open up the hole slightly to get it to fit in. I adjusted mine down until they touched and then 1/2 turn. I think the instructions said 1/4 turn. Traction is better but still spin if I get too aggressive out of the hole.

Hope this will help alittle. If you lived close I would be glad to help with the install.

why didn't you just grind the head of the bolt down ?

I did grind the second one down, but the first hole had a bad burr on it. Not sure why. The saddle needed fixed anyway. Most center bolts I have found here have slightly bigger heads than the stocker so I really didn't see any difference as long as it fit.
