i know you said thats what you were told...but is it in the truck right now running on stock valvetrain? im looking for a good cam for stock heads for my truck right now...the cam card for the 264 says head modification needed i think..
 
no it's not in the truck but MMMMMtoqures is in his truck on his stock valve train i'll post the PM i asled him

My truck sounds awesome...of course I am biased ;) The cam added some lope to it and the whole truck has a slight shiver at idle. It was a huge difference but I am running the stock valve train. It is pretty hard to get a V10 really lopy.

It does sound mean as hell and my local Vipertech said it was the best sounding Viper engine he has heard. Now..the exhaust, intake and ported heads all made subtle impacts to the sound....

SilverSRT10 can provide some unbiased feedback as well.

thanks dude...appreciate the help...thats why i love this forum....thought i was gonna have to put the stock cam back in...i had the compitition coupe cam in it first and really didnt like it...then i put the big comp cam in...but i sold the heads with all my badass valvetrain setup and didnt want to spend the money to get my stock heads redone...my previous setup was 924 comp springs...bigger valves...stage 4 port...and crower billet rocker 1.6...should not have sold it...i regret it everyday...but thanks for the help though
 
i am having the bigger springs for mine the only thing you need to do to run the better springs is the seat were the spring goes has to be opened up a bit ,,Bone and Taliban Dan are sending my heads to the guy who ported his and i am going with the same setup bone has ,,they are also doing a 3 angle grind on my valve seats ,,i am calling comp cams on tuesday or wednesday ,,i emailed them and they sent me a response back saying that since i am going with the different springs i could go with either one and im leaning hard on the 270 ,,,if i dont have to switch valves and rockers i will most likely go with the 270 ,,,

whats the diffrence on the 3 angle valve job? i mean i really don't know the diffrence but i know my heads have it done but didn't really know if it was better than stock lol
 
How much are they now? I believe I paid $560 two years ago. I liked the sound of the cam:rock: Wasn't sure on the hp increase cause I had no before #'s:( I will be using it again in my new build though:rock:
 
they told me 270 is at least 30 hp maybe a tick more with PP

funny they never even mentioned them ,,,goober:marchmellow: :Do i missed typed you dont have to redo spring in either of the cams BUT ,,i am installing the duel springs from BPE its the duel setup that needs a bit more clearance and 270 cam is 35 hp ,,,the 264 is 25 to 30 more like 25 i would think:confused:
