Sure, all you have to do is take the whole front of the engine off. :D

Oh, not sure.....wow how many miles are on your truck? If I remember correctly, they just check it, not necesarily change it. I would ask Stingray, he would know.

So I should start early in the AM huh..lol. I'd rather mess up the truck myself if thats what it comes down too. I cannot explain how angry Id be if the same thing happened to me that happened to Ronnie.

I don't have an '04, however you can get to the bolt (13/16" I believe). without removing the whole front end But if it requires removing the Cam, yes you have some work ahead of you.

To tighten it, just have to get underneath the truck and can get to the bolt around the harmonic balancer.

Do you have the procedure listed anywhere?

Is this the harmonic balancer bolt issue? Or is this another problem? I just squeezed a 13/16 socket onto the bolt head on the harmonic balancer and inserted a torque wrench and made sure the torque was correct...not easy but was done in ten minutes...

I am not aware of a "cam sprocket bolt" recall...someone get me up to date please...

Here you go gang..this should allow you to put in your Vin...and it will tell you if there are un-performed recall's on your truck... I would follow up with the Dealer if you want further confimation.

Roy.... your good...they pin the crankshaft and hub together with the SC install.

I dont have the procedure with me but I will get it before I do it. I might as well buy a nice lumpy cam as well while im at it.

I believe the recall came out in 4/04 so if your truck was built after that I dont think theres an issue. I would check by entering you last 8 digits on your VIN on the link NBT put up.

Don't confuse the cam bolt recall, with the harmonic blancer bolt problem. They are 2 very seperate issues. My truck needed the cam bolt recall done on it, and yes you have to take the front of the engine all apart.

Bill.

Yeah, lol, don't let me confuse the issue. Seems like two separate issues.
