Can I win over an '07 Vette?

Hey all,

I met a guy yesterday that has a really bad attitude about my truck and his Corvette. It's not a Z06. He thinks I don't even stand a chance of taking him from a standing start. (He's really pretty cool, but you could tell by his attitude that he thought these trucks weren't hitting on much).

I would really like to show him what we've got.

Him:'07 Corvette Convertible, six speed, don't know what motor. (Not a Z06). No mods (he says).

Me:'06 SRT 10 QC no mods except Borla Cat-back.

Which way do I need to set this up to my advantage? Or do I stand a chance? I know that top end is out of the question, but should I do the eighth mile, or quarter mile, or rolling start?

From what I have seen. Standing start is best since you have a QC. Only do 1/8 mi since he will catch you very quickly Z06 or not. Cross your fingers and hope he cant drive stick.

Oh... and go somewhere that no one is around, be careful, and check over your truck completely before you do anything. Good luck... :burnout:

Just go do it and have fun. If he misses a shift or spins real bad you just might get lucky. :rock:

I figure it this way.............If I win, cool. If I lose, cool, your Corvette beat a 5600 pound quad cab TRUCK. No big deal.

I have both vehicles, you can take him, but it will be a hell of a drag race...you will have a much better chance in an 1/8 and you've GOT to cut a good light to take him...:rock:

Exactly. You are both stock.

The 07 Vette at 400 hp and 3200 pounds should run around 13 flat. Your truck stock should run around 13.6 to 13.8

Race him and hope he misses a shift.

I have seen a rental vette at the track...........he best run was a 13.6

Stage 2 upgrade and you got em IMO.

Dude I noticed you don't have the Stage 2 falsh? The flash and Cats Delete And I don't think Stock C6's should be a Problem. Just My Opinion/:dontknow:

Ya it will deff be a close race if he spins the tires a lil to much.. and being hes gonna wanna pound you hard hes gonna be all jittery and punch the gas way to hard and blow the back tires off and you should hopefully walk away ,, well then its just catch up for him... but after you kick his ass for a few hundred yards you just let up and let him fly by ricer style then make fun of him LOL... .....

I lost to one in the 1/8th. I ran a 9.03 and he ran a 8.6x. I say it you MAY have a slight chance if he is a crappy driver. I agree that a stage II would put you much closer in contention.

You have to understand My friend The quads are a detuned version. They purposely did that. You spent 50 k on a truck and your not getting all of your Horses. The Stage 2 Flash is A Real MUST!! for the quads.

I say either way it goes, he's gonna have some more respect for your truck. He thinks it's gonna be a walk in the park. But he'll find that he needs to peddle faster than he thought he'd have to. Show him what our trucks are made of Lee. Safely. No one's allowed to get hurt.
