Cant get Spiders in!

Is there a trick to putting in the upper spiders gears in?? I already have the side gears in. The back of the upper gear hits the case When i try to "roll" one in. I try to wigle it in as i rotate the axle but it only rolls in 1/4 of the way and gets wedged against the case.
I think i need to compress the clutches?

Yes you have to compress the clutches, did you buy new clutches?

Yes i did.. got the kit from JTSVP. How do i compress the clutches?

Ok new clutches are gonna be TIGHT. I made a tool to compress the clutches from the inside out of some all thread and washers. I took an axle out and bolted it to the spare tire to use as a stand. Compresst he clutches then spin the diff on the axle a few times then tighten some more then repeat until top gears fit

You soaked the clutches in gear oil for a day too?

Would i loose the pinions back lash if i take out the carrier?

No, just keep up with which shims were on which side when you pull the carrier.
