I have the Bassani Headers with JMB catless mids. The bolts that hold the mids to the headers keep loosening....I can drive a 100 miles and the bolts will turn 1-3 turns before tightening...........any suggestions?..

Maybe get longer bolts and double nut it. I am sure you have already exhausted the threadlock thingy. More than likely it just burns up the thread lock. Don't know too much about temperature ratings on thread lock. Another possibility is maybe the torque wrench needs to be recalibrated. Not getting the proper torque on them bolts.

I'm assuming there are bolts and nuts, so have you got washers under the nuts?:dontknow:

If they do not use nuts, is there any way you can add them?

(I had Belangers, so I'm not sure about your setup??)

Bolts and nuts....and washers...

Safety wire your bolts together. Its a little bit of work, but you won't have to worry about it again.

find some safety wire washers, used them a ton on bikes , comes in all sizes, put under the nut, then bend the tab and wire the tabs together int he direction of tightning

I have used safety wire washers before on other projects....should have thought of that..hmmmm...will try this unless someone has a better idea..thanks Sleeper & Stinker..

knick the threads.............................. get some header keepers or safety wire them........... I LOVE TO SAFETY WIRE! It an art

same thing happened to me. I just double nutted them with new bolts (grade 8) and have not had any issues since.

Changed the oil today and did the "double nut" since it was easy to do while the truck was on the rack....I will recheck the bolts after about 200 miles and see if this works..if not on to the safety wire.......

Double nutting definately sounds like the way to go! :nurse:

Wait. What are we talking about again?

Seriously, Good luck with your double nutt(ing). :D
