car alarms - what do you guys use ?

I have the Factory alarm in, Which means you can have a square dance in the bed and the bastard still wont go off.

I'll never install a aftermarket alarm in any of my vehicles.... too many issues down the road. Most mechanics I know won't even begin to diagnose a car w/ a aftermarket system on it. They tell the person to go back to where they got the alarm installed and have them take it out.

:dito: :withstupid: I've always relied on my insurance. :)

Although remote start and "Viper Armed" would be superbadass. Hell, my truck sits in the garage with the windows down and the key in the ignition.

where do you live? I need a nice parts truck :D

I'm the same way, if someone wants parts, come and get my truck. state farm will cover me :D

alarms only make the unexperienced thief walk away (most of them). If they really want something you have and know what they are doing.......its theirs. I have heard of people who still peoples systems and leave the alarm on the doorstep. I have a viper with several sensors (motion, glass break, tilt, pressure, two way radio, all the bells and whistles) and they still broke in my truck. I live in Houston though.

imo a battery cut-off where only you know is probably the safest other than that i say use common sense when you park it. i have a python alarm that came with the truck but the remote's range is like 1/4 mi or so which does me no good enless im at my house or close enough to see it. i know they make ones with 1/2mi range and longer.

I always used the stock one....

Plus a light sleeping Australian shepherd and several home defense mechanisms.

D

Nobody pays attention to squealing annoying alarms anymore...those things go off if you piss in their direction.....
get train horns wired to your factory or aftermarket...
guaranteed to have people looking then and the look on the robbers face and the shit stain in his pants will be priceless...so set a camera up and watch them try again!!!
