CEL @ 730 miles :(

radio stations will stay... internal battery in the radio--clcok will have to be set though

So, I buy my new Lightning after that, have 2 trouble free years, then get the bright idea about how awesome it would be to get the SRT-10 truck for my next vehicle. Hey there,
I get a engine check light every single time it comes back from getting tuned and then after two days it seems to go away and i just forget about it until next time.. Hope yours is not too serious..

Thanks, I will watch it, it has nt gone out yet, however has not been driven much. still runs fine.

I will unplug the battery this Sunday when I get back from Vegas.
 
Took it to the dealership, they said it was the EVAP pump that needs to be replaced. Something common with these?
 
I SEE IT FROM TIME TO TIME...ITS ACTUALLY THE NVLD PUMP...WE STOCK EM' IF THAT TELLS YOU ANYTHING
 
too bad they don't. They will keep it overnight and get it done first thing in the morning.
 
That pump was replaced on mine also. But wish it wasn't, because ever since then mine hangs its idle. So far dealer hasn't been able to find a reason as to why. Think I'm going to drop that pump and check all the vacuum lines.
 
THE NVLD WOULDN'T CAUSE ANY TYPE OF DRIVABILITY ISSUES... WHAT EXACTLY IS IT DOING? WHEN? HOT, COLD, ETC..?
 
That is what I was wondering as my truck runs fine, I just hate seeing the CEL light on my new truck. I wanted to get it cleared before I installed my Stage II, Exhaust and filter this weekend.
 
While driving, say in 4th gear, and I just push the clutch in and hold it, the engine will idle anywhere between 1200-1800 rpm's for approx 10-20 seconds while it slowly returns to 'normal' idle of 750rpms. Its really noticable after a shift up to the next gear, esp 4th, 5th, or 6th. At times I don't need to give it any throttle going into the next gear. The worst is when you downshift coming into a corner and expect some engine braking to slow ya down, but no real engine braking happens and have to touch the brakes. Dealer flashed the computer for a cold start idle(TSB) and replaced the throttle position sensor, no luck. This all started immediatley after the leak detection pump was replaced:dontknow: Other than that she runs great!
 
THAT FLASH FOR COLD IDLE WAS ONLY FOR QUAD CABS; AND THAT SAME FLASH ENHANCED THE EVAP LEAK DETECTION MONITOR FOR REG CABS. THATS ALL. ANY CHECK ENG LIGHTS? WHAT MODS DO YOU HAVE?
 
No check engine lights since then and the only mods at that time was the magnaflow muffler. Since then Boomers mid-pipes w/o cats and a B&G stageII computer replaced the stock computer.
