Changed my Shocks....

I have a question for everyone, my truck isn't level and I'm not too keen on putting 4 rubber spacers on one coil/side, is that even safe to do or common practice? I've seen a place called: "Daystar" who sell a 1" coil spring spacer, this would level my truck out as it's exactly 1" lower on the RH side. They list it for 1500, 2500 and 3500s from 1994-2004 but I've been told the springs from 04-06 are the same, so that side of it is fine. But they only list the spacers as being for: "V6 and V8" engines. I've had one word of advice but I'm just doing my home work and gathering more input. I just want to be safe, is all. They list them for V6 and V8s but they're the same material as their "V10" spacers. They only sell "V10" spacers of 2.5", too much lift. Any help?

Carl, find a local spring shop and have them rearch your springs, much better way to level your truck and it will be just right.

Thanks Jack, I should have mentioned the rear is perfectly level and I don't want to mess around with that. It's all but 3-4mm higher on the driver side or in imperial speak, 0.11-0.15" difference, so, in "real world measurements" and to the eye, it's perfect.

I'd like an easy solution that works, 1" isn't exactly "slightly off".

Hi Tony, measurements were taken from the centre of the tire from the ground to the centre of the wheel arch lip. I used a level on my driveway and truck to make sure the truck and ground were perfectly level. I took measurements then had someone else take them without knowing what I got to double check. Both were the same. 1" out at the front (RH) and 0.11" out at the rear (LH).

the reason I ask it to take body measurements you actually should take them from the frame, never a body panel, panels move, frame dont.

but being 1 inch differnce is abnormal, I wish the were measurements before lowering, but a spacer should take care of the problem.

Touche Stinker, touche. Not sure what to do now. Don't want 4 spacers on one coil and now I'm thinking if I raise the RH front the LH rear will sag to compensate. So in that case why not just re-tension the leafs or get a slightly lower block on one side to level it out. One way or another one end is going to be slightly off so it's a matter of getting the right measurements and getting it 50/50 to where it's invisible to the naked eye or at least doesn't stand out as much (if at all). *Carl starts Pondering*

I will bet that the 20% stiffer than stock springs that I got from Stinker will NEVER bottom out .:rock:

Being as low as I am in the rear,dips in the road are scary ! It hits the frame HARD. My solution is to raise it about 1/2" to 5/8" and see if that helps me.I knew before ordering that this was a potential problem ,so it is totally my responsibility.The upside is that I have learned a few things.And ,it is very easy to cut off the blocks to get the perfect compromise between looks and handling/ride.

I took 5/8" off of both my blocks and I tested the ride out today. NO BOTTOMING AT ALL !! My blocks now measure 2 5/16" drivers side and 2 13/16" passenger side.The truck now has a little rake where before it looked more level. Ride is way better !!!!!

And as a bonus,the traction for some reason went way up !!
