cleaning inside of rims

Well I put on PF pads, went for a short drive and I can tell the pads will not be dust free enough, I will need to clean the inside of the wheels everytime I wash... So....

Has anyone come up with a better way of doing this beyond laying down and reaching behind the wheel? I can get to some of it through the wheel, but I find laying and reaching in from behind is easier, unless someone else can give me a better idea? :dontknow: :dontknow:

I just reach through as opposed to reach around.

A various collection of toilet bowl brushes works great....................

The PF pads will dust a little as they break in but most of the dust will go away.......

I reach through as well.... let me tell you it's a PITA... just incase you haven't
figured it out already... pretty soon i'll take the rims off and do a through
cleaning brakes and all... :rock:

I dont reach at all, I use a cleaner called sno-bowl or "the works" . They are a toilet bowl cleaner that has some sort of acid that will make youre rims shine. I only use it on the inside of the rim and I wash off with water after about 2 min after application

That made my butt-hole pucker up! Is that stuff not abrasive?

I'll stick with Windex and elbow grease.

Eh, long as they don't eat through the rim or make it extremely ashy(god forbid)
Then i don't mind... after all it does say my rims will smell fresh :rock:

One of the greatest wheel cleaners in the world is Go-Jo....

It's a non abrasive hand cleaner with lanolin......

Cuts the dust and grease and is actually kind to your hands.....

Used it for years to keep my crotch rockets sparking clean...

I like your idea... =)

But I have been jacking up the truck and taking the wheels off then just using a bucket of water, and a little bit of dawn dish soap, and a toilet brush, some elbow grease..all nice and clean... =)

Floor jack, impact wrench, pull each wheel, and use Michelin wheel cleaner (my wife developed the formula!). Real easy to clean everything in the wheel well then too...

I agree Jack.

If I have to take a vehicle in for service where a wheel will be pulled I tip the guy 5 bucks a wheel to not use an impact gun.

I hate those things.

Oh, I know...have one but dont use it on the lugs. Was more of a tongue in cheek suggestion

I use the stock lug wrench and a 1/2" torque wrench on the wheels.

Anyway, I wash the tires the old fashion way...by hand....At least once a month

I HAVE FOUND THAT MOTHERS WHEEL CLEANER WORKS PREETY DAMN GOOD.
MOST WHEEL CLEANERS I HAVE TRIED SUCK ASS.THIS STUFF SEEMS TO TAKE MOST OF IT OFF.SPRAY,WAIT 2 MINUTES,HOSE OFF.STILL GO THRU
THE FRONT WITH SOAP AND WATER AFTER.MOMMAS CLEANER,GIVE IT A TRY.
