Okay, need some opinions from the gearheads. As some may have read already, I made the stupid mistake of trying to launch at over 3500 rpms (track was hooking pretty good but my 60's were still too low).
Anyhow I smoked the clutch some but got off the throttle immediately. I let it cool down and didn't make any more passes. Clutch still seems to grab well on the ride home.
I took the beast out again yesterday and it is still grabbing good. No slippage whatsoever. I hammered it a couple of times to be sure and NO slip. I did have just a little bit of burnt smell again when I got her home and I get just a very slight amount of shudder on a normal take off.
So, my questions for the gearheads are...
1. Is the repeat of burning smell just the hot spots burning off?
2. Will the slight shudder go away as the hot spots burn off?
3. Am I still going to be okay with this clutch or will it go downhill from here and have to be replaced?
Thx.
