Clutch Kit Installed

Went to the ACT web site and it did not list a product for our trucks...must be a beta test...but great, I'm all for finding multiple sources for good equipment. Sorry that your Centerforce has had some problems...keep us briefed.

Thanks again for all you do...

Just to jump in we may have found Hot Rams problem.

The viper master cylinder rod is actually longer than the stock, so for it to rest in the same postition as it was it must be shimmed 3/8 to 1/2 inch from the firewall.
Patrick and I went round and round and round with this and mine works fine now.
But Patrick is correct the stock slave for some reason started to fail under the pressure from the centerforce pressure plate.

By the way Patrick does anyone know how much the ACT clutch and the centerforce can handle hp wise?

Dan at DC recommended this clutch to me awhile back. I think he said it's good up to 800 hp. I actually called the company to check it out , And they said they did not make one for our vehicles. Called Dan back, And told him this info. He said he had one on the shelf??? Patrick might be of more help. Maybe for a viper, But not listed for Ram SRT-10 ??

the alloy Viper slave is almost .250" (1/4) shorter in height compared to the plastic stock slave. that is why we supply the 2 billet shims to place behind the new slave before you bolt it to the tranny. that puts the new slave at the correct installed height for the engagment to the pressure plate.
if this isnt done, your engagment height will be off, and the piston in the slave cylinder will over travel in distance and then will get cocked at an angle and hang up, making the pedal not feel like its releasing at the uppermost point of pedal travel. this is what happened to stinker, when his installer only used 1 shim.
you can lower the pedal height by installing washers over the studs of the mastercylinder mounting plate before you install it to the firewall, that will lower the pedal hieght.
one good thing about the clutch pedal being a bit higher, is it forces you to make a full engagment thru the arc travel for proper engagement/disengagment of the clutch when shifting.

AAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!

you definitly need to get the slave cylinder shims Boomer has, in fact save yourself some time , jsut get the kit from him!

I think that we all need to buy something from Boomer that we have been thinking about but not doing...just to pay him for the technical advice he is so willing to offer for free!

This data is all intellectual property, that has cost him time, effort and expense to garner.

We owe this man big time!

Update

Having had the fidanza in from Sep 06 until today (July 3),I decided to go back to a stock flywheel. The trucks seems heavier, but isn't as jerky around town. Also lost some responsiveness with the stock flywheel, but for everyday, around town, driving,I like stock better.Noticed something VERY odd though.................exhaust sounds different :dontknow: Less cackling and popping.

For a slightly more aggressive driving style the fidanza is great. For me,stock feels better ( I am not driving as hard as I did :D )
